SUNFLOWERS DAY NURSERIES
Parent Partnership
Parent partnership is the relationship between you and your child’s care team. It begins from your very first visit and continues throughout your child’s time with us. By working together, we can provide the best possible support for your child’s learning and development.
We believe it is essential to work closely with parents so that the best outcomes can be achieved for every child. By sharing as much information as possible, we can better understand your child’s needs, interests, and development. We also aim to involve parents in the life of the nursery and support you in all aspects of your child’s learning.
Good communication is at the heart of this partnership. We keep you informed about your child’s day, and we value the information you share with us about your child at home.
We communicate with parents in a variety of ways, including:
-
Daily chats at drop-off and pick-up
-
Phone calls and emails
-
Parent meetings and reviews
-
Sharing photos and updates from your child’s day on Famly
-
Newsletters and social media
We also encourage parents to be actively involved by:
-
Sharing milestones and achievements from home
-
Letting us know about any concerns
-
Keeping us updated on changes at home
-
Being open about your child’s development
Parent partnership is a two-way relationship. By being open, honest, and working together, we can support your child in the best way possible.
Why Parent Partnership Matters
A strong parent partnership means parents, families, and practitioners working together to benefit children. For this to be successful, it needs to be built on trust, openness, and shared responsibility.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) highlights four important parts of working in partnership:
-
Supporting children’s learning and development
-
Sharing information
-
Contributing to your child’s experiences
-
Making decisions together and supporting the best outcomes
Working in partnership has many benefits for both children and parents.
Building
Trust
A strong, trusting relationship helps your child feel safe and secure. When children see that their parents and care team are working together, it gives them confidence in their environment.
Getting Involved
When parents are involved, children feel supported and valued. Sharing experiences between home and nursery helps create a more consistent and positive experience for your child.
Shared Expectations
Working together allows us to understand your child’s needs, routines, and development. This helps us provide care that is tailored to them, and in keeping with what happens at home, giving consistency to your child.
